Christmas 2008

Christmas 2008 was filled with lots of snow. The travel to Pendleton was filled with snowy -dangerous roads, but everyone made it home safe. Although Becca and Steve didn't make it this year it is probably good they didn't try to come because they might have spent Christmas in the Portland airport because the roads were all closed for a few days. We sure did miss them!

Sullivan and Owen gots lots of fun toys to travel back to Puyallup with. We wanted to share a few of our fun pictures and videos.

Happy Thanksgiving!

You know you are a grown up when you have to plan and cook your own Thanksgiving Dinner. Well Eric and I were pretty sad that we couldn't spend the day with our families, but we were pretty excited to attempt a full meal on our own. To prepare we watched "Bobby Flay's Turkey and Stuffing Throw Down" on the food network and I think it helped.

Eric got a HUGE turkey (17 lbs) from one of the Hooterite guys that he knows. We cooked it up and we will probably be eating turkey for the rest of the year. Green bean casserole, wild rice with heart and gizzards, mashed red potatoes, stuffing, dinner rolls, and a little bit of gravy rounded out the menu.

Eric also got to chat with his parents who have a new webcam. Very Nice!

My Christmas Thoughts

I am just going to say it. I don't like drawing names because I like giving gifts to everyone. You guys know how much I like giving you people things and now you are taking it away :(

Okay, but in reality I can really appreciate the money saving value of picking names and with the money we all spend traveling it really does help.

So here is my proposal and I call it the Santa Clause "If you want to MAKE a small gift for everybody, then that is okay and if you don't want to make a gift then you don't have to and nobody will think less of you."

It doesn't have to be crazy crafty but you could make a mixed CD with way sweet music or a dozen yummy cookies for each family or an updated family photo with a magnet on the back.

So that is what I think.

Remember the Alamo

Some pictures from our trip to downtown and the Alamo. This is called the river downtown with shops and lots of places to eat. We took a boat tour on the river it was really fun.

Visit To Austin Texas

I got to spend a week with Becca and Steve in Austin. Thought I would start out with some pictures of their beautiful house. Of course I never did get any outside pictures but just a few from inside. This pictures is from when we went out to dinner in town and got to eat looking over the river. It was so fun.

Christmas Thoughts

We thought we might draw names again but do it this way--
Jason & Camila--draw Edwin & Jessi
Kasey & Eric ---draw Jason & Camila
Becca & Steve--draw Kasey & Eric
Edwin & Jessi--draw Becca & Steve
Mom, Dad, and Santa fill the stockings

next year we just move up one more name so Jason & Camila would do Becca & Steve in 2009 etc.
Let me know what you think
Love and miss you all-Mom

"My baby brother is getting married"

It is kind of a bad pic, but I think we all remember...

My weekend projects

About 5 years ago I made some of these cute pot monsters for some friends of the family. I have since lost the pattern and had to do these by memory for my grandsons. he is such a cute monster I plan on delivering him before Halloween to my guys. Of course he has my favorite candy in the top.
Then there is this fun new recipe. Well when I was looking for my monster paint pot directions I found this brownie recipe I had saved and wanted to try. So Grandma and I baked it and was it good--called Chocolate Crunch Brownies. Would love to share the recipe and the calories.

Quiet lonely weekend

Grandpa and I were really sad because there was no one to play with at our house. This is the lonely picture of our back yard without our grandsons.

My Misty...No My CZ!

I have a horse. Okay the guy we rent from has a horse that I like to pretend is mine. His name is CZ and he is a palomino stud horse. Everyday I save my apple core from lunch and feed it to him when I get home. Now when my car pulls up and I get out CZ comes to the fence to get his apple. If I don't have an apple then he smells me to see if I am hiding it. I use to feed him whole apples but Eric got mad because he said I was wasting money. I don't think you can put a price on friendship so I still sneak CZ a whole apple every once and a while. Yesterday I told Eric that I needed a horse brush for my horse, he cruelly reminded me that CZ is not really my horse but I am still putting "horse brush" on my x-mas list.

Did I mention that I also have a cat. Eric gives her left over cereal milk every morning, so she hangs around. He also gives her geese insides. It was pretty gross.

Sad Day at Grandma's House!

It was a sad day at Grandma's house. Sullivan fell on the fireplace and had to go to the ER for 3 stitches. We were all very sad and very scared. This picture was taken the next day that is why there is a smile oh ya and because he has chocolate in his mouth. Grandma really loves her guys!
